Ram Navami 2016
Hindu devotees to get water from Gaya mosques
In the times of war and hatred people
of Gaya are setting an example of communal harmony and religious
tolerance. While religious intolerance and anti-national had become the
terms of the year, here are people who remain unaffected by all the
debate and arguments. Mosques in Gaya will provide water to devotees
taking part in the procession in Ram Navami and beat the scorching beat.
The message was sent across by imams of all importance mosques to the
senior superintendent of police (SSP) Garmi Malik in a meeting. A
discussion was held in the city with imams and maulavis seeking cooperating during Ram Navami processions.

This is not the first time, Gaya showed a kind gesture and upheld humanity above religions, they have also helped Haj pilgrims in the past. According to a Hindustan Times Report, Jagadguru Swami Raghwacharya, then Mahanth of Vaishnavite Ramanujacharya Math, accommodated and fed Haj pilgrims who wanted to board Jeddah-bound flights from Gaya. Imams had similarly offered facilities to Hindu pilgrims coming from Pitrapaksh Mela.
During the meeting held a day before Ram Navami, imams not all agreed to help devotees, but also offered required services. From maintaining the roads to offering water to Hindu devotees, the imams agreed to maintain peace and order in the city. Rama Navami is celebrated on April 15 across India and other countries. The day marks the birth of Lord Ram. The holy day is celebrated with great pomp and fervor in the country especially Ayodhya which is believed to be birth place of Lord Ram.
