AK Sajan's directorial venture "Puthiya Niyamam," starring megastar Mammootty and Nayantara, hit over 200 screens all over India on Friday, Feb. 12. The movie has a solo release in Kerala without any superstar's movies, even though it will lock horns with Fahadh Faasil's "Maheshinte Prathikaaram" outside Kerala.

In the movie, Mammootty plays the role of Adv Louis Pothen, who is married to a Kathakali artist named Vasuki Iyer, played by Nayantara. From the trailer of the flick, audience expect it to be a mysterious crime thriller, although it was believed to be a comedy family entertainer before, especially after its teaser was out.

"Puthiya Niyamam" is one of the much-awaited projects in Malayalam as it marks the comeback of the lucky couple Mammootty and Nayantara after "Bhaskar the Rascal," directed by Siddique. They have also shared screen space in movies "Rappakal" and "Thaskara Veeran." Thus, their onscreen chemistry, well appreciated by the audience, is one of the major highlights of "Puthiya Niyamam."

With Mammootty enjoying a huge fan following in Kerala, all movies of the actor do good business on its opening day and "Puthiya Niyamam" is also expected to do well at the box office owing to the pre-release hype of the movie. Special fan shows began in Kerala at 8:30 am.

Great message and story. Movie describes the current affairs and women harassment , strong character from Nayans. Mammotty had break through.
