Sports Illustrated unveils 2016 Swimsuit Edition
The three cover girls of the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition – Hailey Clauson, Ashley Graham and Ronda Rousey.
Sports Illustrated has unveiled its 2016 Swimsuit Edition,
and for the first time in history, Ashley Graham, a plus-size model,
will share the limelight with two others – Hailey Clauson and Ronda
Rousey.
“All
three women are beautiful, sexy and strong. Beauty is not cookie
cutter. Beauty is not ‘one size fits all”, remarked Assistant Managing
Editor of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue M.J. Day on their
website, regarding the groundbreaking decision to feature three models,
instead of one, for this year’s issue.
Although
the magazine has featured curvaceous model Kate Upton twice on its
cover in the past, Ashley is the first ever size-16 girl to be endowed
with such an honour. A model by profession, Ashley is also a
motivational speaker and body activist.
Nevertheless,
Ashley hates the tag ‘real woman’, for she believes beauty comes in all
shapes and sizes, and thinks that labels of any sort should be
discouraged.
Ronda
Rousey is no stranger to us. The 29-year-old MMA fighter, has posed on
the cover au naturel; she had a swimsuit painted on her body.
The
third model, Hailey Clauson, the skinniest among them all, is a ramp
model. The 20-year-old can be seen topless on the magazine cover.
In
her Instagram account, the blonde bombshell has written that she could
hardly sleep at night because of being excited about her SI Swimsuit cover.
