Publish PM Modi’s BA degree online: Kejriwal writes to DU Vice Chancellor

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to DU Vice Chancellor asking that PM Modi’s documents be published online.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday wrote to Delhi University Vice Chancellor asking that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s documents be put on its website.

In a letter to VC Yogesh Tyagi, Kejriwal said the people of the country should have access to how educated their Prime Minister is. Moreover, he says, if there are allegations about the PM’s BA degree, it’s a serious matter wherein the truth should be revealed at the earliest.

Here’s what the Chief Minister said in his letter:

“There’s a question whether he did a BA degree from DU or not. It’s being said that he did not get a degree from DU.
According to sources, DU records do not have details of PM Modi’s admission, marksheet, degree or any other record.
This is a very serious issue as Gujarat University has said he has done an MA from there. If he did not do his BA, how did he get admission for an MA course? This creates a doubt that the degree is fake.
Kejriwal also cautioned the VC that — according to some media reports — an ‘accident’ could happen and the PM’s documents are ‘not safe’.
He therefore asked the VC to publish the documents online so that people of the nation can known how educated their prime minister is.
And if there is such a grave allegation against the PM’s degree, the truth should be revealed.”

The CIC, acting on a letter from Kejriwal, had last Friday asked the Delhi University and Gujarat University to “make best possible search for the information regarding degrees in the name of Mr Narendra Damodardas Modi in the year 1978 (Graduation in DU) and 1983 (Post Graduation in GU) and provide it to the appellant Mr Kejriwal as soon as possible”.
