"Welcome to WrestleMania!"

 That's right, it's time for "The Grand Daddy of Them All" on what is the biggest night of the year in sports entertainment.

 This year's extravaganza is expected to break records at the 80,000-seater AT&T Stadium in Texas with a series of show-stopping matches to look forward to.

 Triple H defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the main event, while Shane McMahon's Hell in a Cell encounter with The Undertaker is NOT to be missed. Nor is Dean Ambrose's no holds barred street fight against Brock Lesnar.
WRESTLEMANIA: Turning point moment for Roman Reign against HHH

And as is customary at WrestleMania, expect a surprise appearance or two with a few unexpected twists thrown in for good measure. Oh, and steel chairs... don't forget those!
The WrestleMania kick-off show starts at 10pm before the fireworks begin and the main show commences at midnight (BST).

Roman doesn’t seem overly bothered that he’s not the most popular world champion

Roman Reigns is the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion!

Triple H’s sledgehammer attack is cut off by a Superman punch, and then another. Boos ring out. Triple H tries to hit him with the sledgehammer, but misses as Reigns ducks, and then Roman spears him. Pinfall, one, two, three! We have a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns.

Superman punch. Is this the start of Reigns’ route to victory? Triple H manages to reply with a big knee. Steph is still down outside by the apron. But she hands him the sledgehammer!

Pedigree

An angered Triple H hits Reigns with the Pedigree! But it’s only two and a half! Business is picking up

Spear on Stephanie!

Reigns signalled for a spear, but Triple H kicked him. Then when HHH went for a Pedigree, Reigns threw him over the top rope. Stephanie tends to her husband as ‘ole’ chants and a Mexican wave goes around the arena. Not a good sign. Roman spears HHH. Stephanie yanks the referee out of the ring and saves the title. The crowd cheer. Now she is in the ring. Slating the ref. Oh my God Reigns spears Stephanie!

"Rip his arm off!"

Triple H goes for a cross armbreaker. “Rip his arm off” shouts Stephanie. But Reigns breaks the hold in the same way as before. Both men are down.

Armbar

After Steph had a moan at the ref, in her evil ringmaster gear (I know, I’m obsessed) HHH and Reigns just about made it back to the ring. Her husband counters a Superman punch with an armbar but Reigns will not tap. It looks like he’s ready to do that spot where he summons the strength to lift his opponent up and slam them down. Which he does, for a two-count.

Spear through barricade

Well I’ve been live-blogging for nearly eight hours. And the action is still going strong, even if my eyes have gone square. Triple H sends Roman Reigns flying across an announce table. Then Reigns spears him through the barricade! That woke me up.

The Cerebral Assassin

Triple H is targeting Reigns’ reconstructed face. Roman fights back and drives Trip’s head into the announce table. But his renaissance is short-lived. Reigns clambers up onto the apron, head between the ropes. Triple H is picking him apart and leaps off the top turnbuckle driving a knee into the back of his head. Now he drops him on his gut on the ropes and goes for the same knee again, but misses as Roman punches him.

"WITH AUTHORITY"

Stephanie is on the ring apron, distracting the ref (and to be fair to him, she is pretty distracting) while HHH hits Roman with a low blow. Big cheers. Then he nails a couple of atomic drops. Reigns briefly rallies, but HHH hits a spinebuster “WITH AUTHORITY” Michael Cole tell us. Like what you did there Cole. Good pun.

Drive-By

Reigns starts to fight back with a series of punches and the boos grow louder and louder. Then he takes HHH down with a flying clothesline. Triple H staggers and falls. Reigns hit his Drive-By. Steph looks concerned.

Work, rest and play

Here we go! As expected Roman Reigns’s every move is booed from the start and loud cheers ring out as HHH sends him flying over the top rope. Roman sucks chants begin. In other news, I’m eating a Mars Bar to give myself a sugar boost. Other chocolates are available.

BOOO...

The boos begin before Roman Reigns’ music even hits. And then it does hit and they are deafening. Roman does his Superman punch into the floor, which sets off fireworks all around him and then all around the stadium, which is pretty cool. Stephanie looks at him with utter disgust. Much like most of the crowd.

Evil Lynn and the King of Kings

Stephanie McMahon standing above a throne, wearing what can only be described as kinky dominatrix gear, tells everyone off and reminds them who is in charge. She looks a bit like Evil Lynn from He-Man The Movie. Which is a good thing. Triple H strides out like the absolute man and the two of them gloat.

Main event time...

It’s time for Triple H versus Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. What sort of bonkers entrance will Triple H have this year?

Magnificent moonsault

On a cheerier note, here’s one of the moments of the night, Charlotte’s magnificent moonsault.
Key event

The Rock and John Cena destroy the Wyatts.

Rock Bottom to Braun Strowman. Five Knuckle Shuffle to Rowan. Attitude Adjustment to Rowan. Bray in. He goes for Sister Abigail on Cena but is pushed away. Spinebuster from The Rock, then a People’s Elbow on Wyatt. He rolls out, humiliated. Will Cena turn on The Rock? No. The Rock welcomes him back, they pose, and they leave, having destroyed The Wyatts. Seems like the live crowd enjoyed it. I hated it to be honest. But what do I know!

All three Wyatts get set to teach The Rock a lesson. Then John Cena appears! And he’s ready to fight.

The Rock beats Erick Rowan in six seconds

Rock wins with a Rock Bottom. In six seconds. That’s the first Wyatt buried. Will there be another?

The Rock versus... Erick Rowan?

The Rock is doing his usual spiel, mocking Erick Rowan “clearly you’re parents are related” and saying Braun Strowman is “looking like he’s been breast fed since he was 26-years-old”. Now he’s putting Bray over, saying “you’ve got it all”. Praises his look, charisma, ring ability, but saying he squanders it. Now he’s mocking him as expected and challenges him to a match! Wow. He’s all set to go! But Rock and Rowan? Why? Give us Rock versus Bray.

Come on...

Please let the Wyatts give him an absolute beating. Make Bray a star. Don’t have the part-timer annihilate them. “This is my moment” says Bray. If only it were true...

Nothing gets bigger than the Wrestlemania when it comes to wrestling. From the AT&T center in Dallas, Texas with an attendance of over 100,000, many high profile matches are in store. And they lived up to the billing!

 AS IT HAPPENED:
# REIGNS CELEBRATES!
# SPEAR!! Roman Reigns WINS! NEW WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!
# Stephanie hands Triple H the sledgehammer. But ANOTHER SUPERMAN PUNCH. ONCE MORE!
# SUPERMAN PUNCH! Massive sucker punch by Reigns to the side of Triple H’s jaw.
# HOWWWW! Triple H goes for the cover on Reigns and he kicks out!
# Stephanie in the ring and REIGNS SPEARS STEPHANIE!
# SPEAR! Reigns covers but Stephanie drags the referee out of the ring and feigns ignorance. Ref returns to check and Triple H breaks count at two.
# Triple H tries to go for a Pedigree but Reigns counters and throws him out of the ring!!
# Again Triple H has the hold. And again Reigns responds with a spine buster.
# Massive upper body strength by Reigns. Picks Triple H with the arm locked and goes for the pin. Again kicks out at two.
# Stephanie repeats “Quit! Quit! Quit”.
# Triple H tries once and now again to get Roman Reigns to tap out. Has his right arm locked.
# REIGNS WITH A SPEAR! In the ringside area that takes both men through the barricades.
# Roman Reigns goes for the cover and Triple H kicks out at two. Stephanie chimes in with “C’mon Hunter!” from outside the ring.
# Neckbreaker first and then a knee to the back of Roman Reigns’ head. Triple H with the upper hand. But just as The Game started to get hold of things, Reigns has a little opening.
# Now for the main event: Roman Reigns vs Triple H for WWE World Heavyweight championship.
“We Own You” thunders Stephanie McMahon as she walks down with Triple H.
# That’s a beautiful image!
# THE ROCK is here! And he delivers a Rock Bottom to Wyatts to win in SIX SECONDS! But they’ve surrounded the ring. 3-1? Nope. JOHN CENA COMES IN!! Rockbottoms and AA flying around!
# Shane McMahon might have lost but he left a lasting image with a 20 feet leap from the top of the cage over The Undertaker.
# Results so far: Zack Ryder defeated Kevin Owens, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, Sin Cara and Stardust to win the Intercontinental Championship; Chris Jericho defeated AJ Styles; The League Of Nations defeated The New Day; Brock Lesnar defeated Dean Ambrose; Charlotte defeated Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch to retain the WWE Women’s Title; The Undertaker defeated Shane McMahon; Baron Corbin wins the Andre The Giant Battle Royal; Kalisto defeated Ryback to retain the US Heavyweight Championship; Brie Bella, Natalya, Alicia Fox & Paige (Team Total Divas) defeated Lana & Team BAD & TBA; The Usos defeated The Dudley Boyz
