Amid a lot of rib-tickling humour, dancing and singing, ace comedian Kapil Sharma shot the first episode of his upcoming comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi, on Monday. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was the first guest on the show.

The special episode, which will air on Sony Entertainment Television on April 23, took the audience on a laughter ride and made them recall all the fun and madness that Kapil and his team--Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarti and Chandan Prabhakar--created earlier on Comedy Nights with Kapil.

We got a glimpse into the live show-cum-shoot and here are six things we love about the show:

1.  Kapil Sharma showcased his singing skills
As expected, the show started with Kapil making a grand entry through the crowd singing the popular song Aankhon Ke Saagar while greeting his fans all the way to the stage. Kapil, who is making a comeback on TV with The Kapil Sharma Show, and his co-stars were cheered on by their fans who came to see the show and Shah Rukh Khan in large numbers.

2. New avatars for Kapil's team

While many were chanting names like Gutthi, Palak and Dadi--popular characters from Comedy Nights with Kapil--the audience was in for a surprise when none of the actors played any of their previous roles and came out with fresh new parts that made them laugh throughout. While Ali appeared as a courtesan asking Shah Rukh for a kiss, Kiku came in as the courtesan's husband and a nawab, while Sunil was seen as a female Haryanavi police officer.

3. But Navjot Singh Sidhu looked the same
The only person who looked the same as earlier was Navjot Singh Sidhu; he will appear as a permanent guest on this show as well. The former cricketer and now cricket commentator was joined at the venue by BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur.

4. SRK-Kapil took a dig at Delhi's Odd-Even rule
The enthusiasm and excitement in the audience went to a different level when Shah Rukh made his entry and started pulling Kapil's leg. Shah Rukh, who appeared on the show for the promotion of his new film Fan, also had a funny chat with the audience along with Kapil wherein the duo took a dig at the Odd-Even rule in Delhi.

5. Shah Rukh Khan talked about his love life with Gauri Khan
During the show, Shah Rukh shared some of his childhood memories and talked about his love life with his wife Gauri Khan.

6. Sunil Grover's Fan act for SRK
The biggest moment of the night was when Sunil changed his get-up on stage and appeared as Gaurav, Shah Rukh's character from Fan. He started dancing on the song Jabra Fan and was joined by Shah Rukh and the audience.

The Kapil Sharma show: Shah Rukh Khan shoots Live for the first episode with Kapil and team

SRK shoots for the debut episode with Live audience in a Delhi auditorium.
Ever since the promo of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil hit the tube, fans have been curiously discussing their reunion in the first episode. The moment finally arrived as SRK shot for the debut episode with Live audience in a Delhi auditorium.

Pictures and videos from the shoot went viral on social media. The crowd present at the auditorium proved how much the stand-up comedian and his team were missed on the small screen. Kapil not only entertained fans with his comic antics, but also crooned few songs as well.
Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda, Sumona and Chandan Prabhakar received a thunderous response as they entered the venue. Shah Rukh and Kapil, who share an amazing camaraderie, left everyone in splits of laughter with their jokes. The 50-year-old superstar not only danced with the cast and crew of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' but also with Navjot Singh Sidhu. One of the highlights of the evening was Sunil and SRK's dance on 'Jabra'.

This is what intolerance means to Kapil Sharma

Ace comedian Kapil Sharma, who's all set to return with a brand new TV show, denied that there's 'intolerance' in the country, saying it was just a "word" popularised by social media trolls and individuals "who have no work to do".

"...see, it's just a word. Had you heard about this word earlier? I think it has been made famous by these social media trolls and the news that follows it," Kapil told IANS in Delhi.

He also asked people to make fun of intolerance, saying it was as identical as his famous one-liner "baba ji ka thullu".

"I am telling you, make fun of this word (intolerance)," Kapil said.

"People should not take everything so seriously. There needs to be a scope for humour -- healthy humour," the comedian-actor added.

Asked what he defined healthy humour as, the Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon actor said: "A kind of humour that doesn't compel your parents to flip channels while looking at it with you."

The show featuring actors Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Kiku Sharda, Sumona Chakravarti and Chandan Prabhakar will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television from April 23 onwards.
