The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick-start on 9 April and prior to that, all crazy cricket fans will get to watch Indian and international artistes perform during the opening ceremony at the Dome @ NSCI-SVP Stadium in Mumbai on 8 April.

American singer Chris Brown will be joined by American electronic music group Major Lazer and Bollywood superstars on Friday. Among the Indian artistes, the list includes Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez, along with rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Brown expressed his delight after he was given an opportunity to perform in the opening ceremony of the IPL 2016. An official statement released by Brown's team read: "We are very excited to perform in India for the very first time... Looking forward to a crazy night of mayhem and meeting all my beautiful people in India."

Major Lazer took to the social networking site to confirm their participation for the opening ceremony. They tweeted: "Major Lazer Returns For 1 Night Only At The @Ipl Opening Ceremony!!"

While the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to kick off tomorrow, the tournament's will get off to a glittery start with the opening ceremony to be performed today.

Several Bollywood celebrities are expected to perform at the ceremony to be held in Mumbai today. 
West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will also be seen peforming on his song 'Champion', which has gone viral on the internet.
