Paul Walker's presence in the Fast & Furious series will always be missed.
Vin Diesel shared the first Furious 8 poster on Facebook on Tuesday, which features just him looking out to an empty road. Furious 8 marks the first film in the franchise to not feature Walker, who died in November 2013.
"New roads ahead," the poster reads.

Set
to hit theaters April 14, 2017, the latest installment does have some
notable new faces, including Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood. Last
week, Eastwood shared the first photo from the Atlanta, Georgia set, featuring Tyrese, Ludacris, and director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton).
"Little
behind the scenes.... can't show you too much," he teased. "But what I
can say is @tyrese and @ludacris and @fgarygray couldn't been more
welcoming. Really good dudes. Had a great first day. Lots of laughs."
The cast also couldn't be more excited for Theron to join the set.
"I feel like her coming on board -- girl power," Tyrese told ET exclusively about the Oscar-winning actress when we caught up with him at WE Day earlier this month. "What we pride [ourselves in] in the Fast and Furious [franchise] is a very diversified cast that's translating domestically and internationally in a major way."
"When
you look at the movie poster and you look to the left, you look to the
right, I'm like, 'Fellas, we need some more women in here, man. We got
to change this thing up a bit,'" he continued. "We have bits and pieces
of power women in it, but we needed to bring it up a notch. [We were]
looking into the Ronda Rouseys -- Michelle Rodriguez has been holding it
down since day one -- but we got Jordana Brewster and Charlize, we're
really stepping it up."
Fast And Furious 8 premiere date: Vin Diesel unveils poster revealing a 'lost' Dominic Toretto
The
emotionally charged Fast And Furious 7 sure left fans in tears – most
of whom were sad because of the tragic death of actor Paul Walker in a
car accident in November 2013. And it seems like the upcoming film in
the franchise will follow in the heels of the previous edition, or at
least this is what the latest poster of Fast And Furious 8 – shared by
actor Vin Diesel shows. Walker's absence will surely be felt as
Diesel is seen staring at an empty road "lost in thought" in the new
poster he shared on Facebook. It reads, "New Roads Ahead", and shows a
sad Dominic Toretto staring towards an empty road. The movie is set for
release on 14 April 2017. The
untimely death of Walker left a gaping hole in the Fast and Furious
franchise and fans are curious to know who would step in his shoes to
fill the void. The franchise, recently hired Scott Eastwood – son of
legendary actor Clint Eastwood – and seems like he could be a likely
replacement for Walker's character of Brian O'Connor. Digital Spy reports
that Eastwood's character will work with Kurt Russell's Mr Nobody and
will assign a new mission to Dom and his crew. The upcoming sequel will
feature some outstanding action scenes on the streets of New York. Meanwhile, Eastwood has expressed excitement after joining the Furious team and termed the movie franchise as a "legacy". He wrote on Instagram,
"It's hard to put into words how excited I am for the next Fast &
Furious. To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It's a
legacy. "These great actors who have been in it together for so
long have become a family. I absolutely can't wait to join it. Now I
can't say too much, but I get to play a new character who operates under
Kurt Russell in the movie, which is incredible because Kurt was a total
childhood hero of mine growing up. "Very much looking forward to
learning a thing or two from such an original and cool guy. Paul was a
close friend of mine. We surfed together, traveled together, and he was a
huge role model and influencing figure in my life when I was younger.
He still is. He was an older brother to me. For me to be able to add to
the F&F story, Paul's story and the FAST family is like a dream come
true." Furious 8 also stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez,
Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Eva Mendes, Kristofer Hivju, and will hit
theatres on 14 April 2017.
