The Graduate Aptitude Test in
Engineering (GATE) 2016 Exam Results will be declared on March 19,
2016. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore will announce
the exam results of GATE 2016 on their official website www.gate.iisc.ernet.in/. The
IISc Bangalore GATE 2016 exam was held on January 30, January 31,
February 6 and February 7, 2016. Candidates can check the GATE 2016 exam
results on the official IISc portal on March 19, 2016 on this link - www.gate.iisc.ernet.in/.
Students of Civil, Mechanical, ECE and EEE streams of engineering who had appeared for the online GATE 2016 examination could check the Merit List and the Cut-off Marks on the Gate.iisc.ernet.in website.
The GATE examination is held by IISc Bangalore every year for postgraduate and PhD courses in India. The GATE 2016 exam score is admitted by some public and private sector undertakings (PSUs) of the government for employment. There is direct recruitment to Group A level posts of the government through GATE – positions like Senior Field Office (SFO Tele), Senior Research Officer (SRO) (Crypto) and SRO (S&T) and so on.
GATE Result 2016 For all Branches: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. The GATE score of a candidate reflects a relative performance level in a particular subject in the examination across several years.
A total of 9,71,831 candidates had registered for GATE 2016 and 8,18,850 candidates have appeared for the examination. Out of the total registered candidates, 5,76,611 of the Male and 2,42,207 of the Female registrants appeared for the examination. In terms of the number of candidates appeared, the five largest papers are: Electronics and Communication Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Computer Science and Information Technology , Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

## A candidate is considered qualified if the marks secured are greater than or equal to the qualifying marks mentioned for the category for which a valid Category Certificate, if applicable, is produced along with this scorecard.

Tech, direct Ph.D.) in centrally funded Indian institutes of higher education (i.e., institutes which are provided with financial assistance by MHRD and other Government agencies). The score is also used by some Public and Private Sector Undertakings for employment processes. Direct recruitment to Group A level posts i.e., Senior Field Office (SFO Tele), Senior Research Officer (SRO) (Crypto) and SRO(S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat is now being done on the basis of GATE scores.
