Playboy’s First Cover of the Non-Nude Era
Playboy
has unveiled the first cover of its non-nude era, featuring model Sarah
McDaniel in a nod to millenials and social media.
McDaniel is seen in a bikini with a Snapchat-style overlay text reading “heyyy ;)”
“The idea was to look at me from a boyfriend’s perspective,” McDaniel explained the theme of the cover in a statement.
Playboy announced plans to abandon nudity within its pages in October.

At
that time, Playboy’s print circulation, once measured in millions, was
about 800,000, according to Alliance for Audited Media.
The
magazine will still include photo spreads of women in provocative
poses. But the move marks the latest step away from depictions of
nudity, which were banned from the magazine’s website last August.
Pamela Anderson appeared on the cover of the last nude issue of the magazine, which was released in December.
