Alia Bhatt's first look from Udta Punjab is out and it will shock you

Alia Bhatt has tried to experiment with various roles, and her upcoming film Udta Punjab is no different. In fact, the 23-year-old actor's first look in Abhishek Chaubey's next is a proof of it. A bruised Alia, who plays a Bihari migrant in the film, seems to be running away from danger in this new poster.

This new avatar and a dramatic transformation has also got a thumbs up from Alia's rumoured boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra. The Kapoor and Sons actor lauded Alia's new look in the film.

And if the first look wasn't enough, the makers also released the dialogue poster of the film where Alia can be heard mouthing her perfect Bihari diction.

Udta Punjab has been in news for a long time now and has grabbed eyeballs for its star cast. After a gap of nine years, the Jab We Met actors Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen together on the silver screen. Apart from the ex-lovers, the film also stars Diljit Dosanjh in a lead role.

Shahid plays the the role of a rockstar, who finds himself in a controversy related to drugs. While Kareena will essay the role of a doctor in the film.

Udta Punjab tells the story of substance abuse in the Indian state of Punjab. It has been co-produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom. The film is set to hit the screens on June 17 this year.

 Clad in a simple salwar kameez, a white coat and a stethoscope, the 35-year-old actor looks determined in the first look poster. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share Kareena's 'Doctor Sahiba' look in the film.

The Ki and Ka actor says that her role in Udta Punjab is on the lines of a Samaritan, but the setting of the movie is dark. "I play a doctor in the film. It's (the role) very simple and nice, good Samaritan kind of a thing. But the whole atmosphere of the film is so nice and dark that the role is very different," Kareena told PTI.

Earlier, it was reported that Alia will be seen playing a Bihari migrant who comes to Punjab and works as a labourer even as she harbours dreams of becoming a hockey player.
