The ninth edition of the Indian Premier League
kicked off with a star-studded opening ceremony at the National Sports
Club in Mumbai.

It's about glitz, glamour and of course the 'Champion Dance' as Indian Premier League's new season kicks off with a glittering opening ceremony tonight. The extravaganza will be held at the National Sports Club of India in Mumbai.
It will be a mix of Bollywood tadka, with American singer Chris Brown and Major Lazer group adding some international flavour. And not to forget cricket's own rapper Dwayne Bravo will also be in the mix performing his chartbuster 'Champion'.
Bravo's 'Champion' number is already a hit among cricket-loving fans in India and now the West Indian all-rounder is set to perform his smash-hit rap at the opening ceremony.
"Dwayne Bravo is performing on Champion Dance during the opening ceremony of IPL-9 in Mumbai. His performance will be the special attraction and there might be a few more West Indies cricketers, who will perform alongside Bravo," IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla was quoted as saying.

Two hours of the mega entertainment will also see Dwayne Bravo in action. 'DJ' Bravo, the West Indian all-rounder who specializes in T20 cricket, will perform his 'Champion' number. This song has been made popular by West Indian players during the T20 World Cup.

to the organisers of the opening ceremony, special technology from
China is expected to make the opening ceremony a sight to watch.
Last year's opening ceremony also had a huge slice of Bollywood. Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma performed on a sizzling night Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium.
