Justin Bieber won over fans’ hearts with his sweet chart-topper “Baby” in 2010, but, like many kids growing up in the spotlight, his teenage years that followed were filled with bouts of bad press — everything from a rocky relationship with Selena Gomez to abandoning his pet monkey and raking up brushes with the law. But since hitting the age of 21 last year, the Canadian pop star has owned up to his past and started working toward a better future. Bieber’s refocused on his faith and values, both on his latest album Purpose and in GQ and Complex’s cover stories, and released a catchy dance-pop single called “Sorry” — seemingly an apology for his wrongdoing, though he claims it’s about a girl. His most recent record even won over Barry Manilow.
