Jasprit Bumrah: India’s death over specialistFrom pinging the floor-skirting of his room with a cricket ball to becoming MS Dhoni’s go-to man in death overs, it hasn’t been a fairy tale journey for pacer Jasprit Bumrah. What made the young pacer overcome personal tragedy and a career-threatening injury was an unflinching trust in his unique action, the knack of hitting the base of stumps at will and being calm under pressure.

India vs Australia, Cricket Score, ICC World Twenty20: The key battles
Pre-tournanament favouites and heavyweights India will aim to seal a place in the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 when they take on Australia in a virtual quarter-final clash at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.
The hosts, who possessed superb form in the run-up to the tournament beating Australia 3-0 in the T20I series followed by the Asia Cup triumph, have not had it easy in the World T20 so far.
Following their loss in the campaign opener against New Zealand, the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side had to fight hard to ensure wins against Pakistan and Bangladesh and now face an improving Australian side in their final Group 2 match.
On the other hand, Australia, who also got their campaign off to a poor start losing to the Black Caps, but thereafter, came back strongly with wins against Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Both sides posses quality individuals who are game-changers in their own rights and that's what makes the Sunday's match a box-office bonanza.
Cricketnext takes a look at some of the key individual clashes that can light up the Mohali crowd and decide the fate of the match.
Virat Kohli vs James Faulkner:
While Virat Kohli has stamped his authority as India's best batsman and shouldered the responsibility of the team's batting attack, pacer James Faulkner too has been the best performer for Australia in the tournament. Kohli, who has so far been the most bankable Indian batsman will be key to India's chances again. Kohli The has mustered 102 runs in three matches at an average of 51 and after failing in the last match against Bangladesh, he will be raring to unleash his skills against Australia. But the biggest challenge in Kohli's path will be Faulkner, who has raised his game to several notches, bagging seven wickets in the tournament. Faulkner was at his best against Pakistan, where he picked up his maiden five-for. The clash between Faulkner and Kohli will also bring the memories of their "friendly banter" that took place during the T20 series in Australia couple of months back and both of them will be eager to have a go at each other once again.
Rohit Sharma vs Josh Hazlewood:
Indian opener Rohit Sharma was in fine form right till the start of the World T20. He was one of the key destroyers of the Australian bowling attack in the T20 series. However, the Mumbai batsman has so far cut out a sorry figure, failing to replicate his pre-tournament form. Rohit, who has managed just 33 runs in three matches, will be desperate to get back among the runs and the hosts too will expect him to give them a solid start. As far as Hazlewood is concerned, he returned to Australian XI against Pakistan at the same venue and ended up with figures of 1 for 26. Hazlewood was impressive in Mohali with his accuracy and Rohit may find it difficult to play move his arm freely against him.
Steve Smith vs Ravichandran Ashwin:
Steven Smith has been a nemesis of the Indian bowling attack in all formats and his liking for the conditions here is well known. Smith has played extensively in Indian courtesy the Indian Premier League and knows the conditions at the back of his hand. The Australian captain scored a brilliant 61 off 43 balls to lead his team to a victory over Pakistan and he will look to lead from the front on Sunday as well. However, one man in the Indian attack who can challenge Smith's ambitions is Ashwin who lies among the best spinners in the world at the moment. Ashwin is a master in Indian conditions and someone who knows his strengths and weaknesses. His thoughtfulness and a fox-like mind also makes him equally lethal. However, Ashwin hasn't performed to the level he and his team would have wanted him to. The onus will be on Ashwin to lead the Indian attack and he can't ask for a better occasion.
Glenn Maxwell and Jasprit Bumrah:
Glenn Maxwell is an enforcer when it comes to destroying bowling attacks. His familiarity with the ground, conditions and popularity among the crowd from this part of the country makes him a one of Australia's hot favourites in Sunday's match. Maxwell has a fair bit of fan following in India, especially in the Northern part, thanks to his IPL team Kings XI Punjab. As a hard hitter of the ball, Maxwell will be the key for Australia's strong finish. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has impressed all in his short career so far. Bumrah has often been hailed by captain Dhoni as the best death-bowling prospect for India. His unconventional action and ability to bowl yorker at will makes him a deadly bowler at the death. Hence, Bumrah will be crucial in applying the brakes on Maxwell that can well be the difference.
