T20 World Cup 2016 Schedule
This will be the Sixth time that the World T20 will be played where 16
cricket teams from all over the world will fight to take the world cup
for the shortest format of the game. This time around India will be the
country which will be acting as the hosts to the ICC tournament. It will
be for the 1st time that the country will be hosting the
major ICC event without any collaboration. The T20 world cup is
scheduled to be held in India from 8th march to 3rd April. It is divided into two rounds namely first and second. Associate teams
are segregated into two groups A and B for the first round. Bangladesh
is the prominent team of the Group A that has the maximum chance to move
into the second round however Ireland and Netherlands would try to
spoil the party. In group B Zimbabwe and Afghanistan arte powerful
contenders to move into the second round as they have players such as
Brendon TAYLOR, SIKANDAR RAZA, DAWLAT and SHAPOOR ZADRAN.
The winner of Group A and B would qualify for the second round where
they will play against established teams. For the second round, the
countries have been divided further into groups A and B comprising of 5
teams each.
Group A: Sri Lanka, South Africa. West indies, England and the Top team of Group B from the first round
Group B: India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Winner of the group A from the first round
The Group B in the second round is being referred to as the group of death due to the presence of title contenders namely India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand. On any given day, the teams can beat each other. India and Australia look very formidable in their group as many players of both countries play alongside each other in IPL. Pakistan is an unpredictable side and can spring huge surprises due to the bowling attack.
Sri Lanka, West Indies and South Africa will be involved in an enthralling contest to proceed to the next stage. The PROTEAS with players such as RABADA and ABOTT will be a force to reckon with and any side should have to be at their top of the game to beat them fair and square.

BCCI has made an announcement that if Pakistan occupies the second slot in Group B, it will be playing the semi final match in Delhi instead of Mumbai on 30th march. The second semi final would be shifted to Mumbai.The Group B in the second round is being referred to as the group of death due to the presence of title contenders namely India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand. India and Pakistan are in the same group and both arc rivals would be continuing their tussle at DHARAMSALA on 19th March. Both teams are meeting after the world cup in Australia. In the last T20 encounter in Dhaka, India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets and more than one over to spare.
